coaltion affirms gay marriage
The
Religious Coalition for Equal Marriage Rights issued "An Affirmation of
Diversity" yesterday, attesting to the varied religious opinion on the
question of equal marriage rights for same-sex couples. Support is growing
in religious communities for gay marriage, religious freedom, and human
rights. The world's religions are increasingly welcoming.

Harper
sends gays to the back of the bus
The
World Sikh Organization called Stephen Harper's anti-gay marriage stance
offensive to the Canadian spirit and urged him - and others who oppose
equal marriage - to act in a manner consistent with Canada's Charter of
Rights and Freedoms.The WSO urges Canadians to stand against injustice
and to insist on protecting Charter rights for everyone.

Jesusland
takes aim at Canada
Anyone
who thinks that the debate on gay marriage is a local one has not been
paying attention. U.S. "Christian" groups are pouring money into Canada
in hope of stopping the ongoing advance of freedom and equality here.
They know that our work is having an impact beyond our borders. Human
rights are universal, unlike Jesusland. Fundamentalism won't fly here.

Purging
toxic religion in Canada
As
gay marriage continues its progress across Canada, opposition from religious
extremists demonstrates the importance of purging the influence of faith-based
bigotry from our secular laws. Same-sex marriage is not only leading to
acceptance of homosexuality, it will also contribute to the liberation
of society from the toxic influence of hateful religions.
