We received the following paper today from Douglas Elliott, of the firm Roy Elliott Kim O'Connor (the good people representing the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto in our attempt to register same-sex marriages).  Douglas delivered this paper at a conference on marriage for the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Committee of the Canadian Bar Association (Ontario):
